On leaving school I worked as a trade apprentice; this gave me my first insight into not only engineering, but also people and communication in the work environment. After periods of experience in industry and in full- and part-time education, I decided that I wanted to work within an industry that enabled me to marry my interest in design and engineering with the enjoyment I get from collaborating with people.


Since joining Hoare Lea 10 years ago, I have had the opportunity to work on many rewarding projects. I firmly believe that those with ability and who are prepared to engage can make a real difference on projects.

Most recently I have been involved in establishing the Oxford office, a process that has been both enlightening and enjoyable. I have also taken on the sector champion role for heritage.
