I was attracted to Hoare Lea by its reputation and its focus on M&E engineering. I joined in 1971 straight from Bath University, having undertaken a work experience placement in the Birmingham office.

I enjoy the variety of work and the challenges that changing legislation can generate and having the opportunity to influence energy conservation and sustainable solutions. One of the highlights of my career was the successful completion of the Gas Research Centre in Loughborough which, despite its fast track approach, provided flexible working solutions that could be adapted to match the clientýs ever changing business needs.
