I became interested in the building sector when I realised that the construction and operation of buildings are responsible for a significant proportion of our environmental impact. I wanted to make a difference to how we use energy and work with architects to reduce environmental impact.

As Head of the Sustainability Group I advise on issues such as energy strategies, waste management, water conservation and procurement. The new Heathrow East Terminal has been one of the most exciting projects I have worked on. Overall, the project will offer approximately 45% carbon emission reduction compared to a baseline regulatory compliant project.
