One New Change was the Supreme Winner of the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Awards 2011 at a prestigious ceremony held in The Brewery, London on 1 November. The mixed-use development also won the Best Large Commercial Building category.
Hoare Lea designed the office and retail MEP systems for One New Change and provided specialist advice regarding vertical transportation, together with sustainability and energy systems expertise. The award will be added to an accolade of many wins for the development since it opened in October 2010.
Local authority building control is all about excellence achieved through building standards, technical innovation and sustainable designs. Local, regional and national award ceremonies are held throughout the year with categories incorporating every class of building… from domestic extensions, social housing, apartments, schools, hospitals, commercial and retail to industrial properties. Only winners of regional awards are eligible for entry in the national awards.
