Saving energy is all well and good and an admirable and necessary goal, writes Dominic Meyrick for this month's Lighting magazine. But do we have to dispense with the beloved, bog-standard, simply brilliant incandescent lamp into the bargain? Or will it be replaced by the CFL/ LED equivalent? Is this amazing technology – so simple by today’s standards.
