The new British Council for Offices (BCO) guide entitled Good Practice in the Selection of Construction Materials will be launched at the BCO’s Construction Conundrum event to be held at the offices of CMS Cameron McKenna, 160 Aldersgate Street, London, on Wednesday 30 March.
The new guide, authored by Hoare Lea, builds on the original 1997 version. Aimed at clients and materials specifiers, it provides a broader view on the selection of materials by incorporating guidance on their environmental aspects in addition to the original guidance on Health and Safety.
Speakers at the launch event include: Paul Edwards, Head of Sustainability at Hammerson, who will provide a client perspective; Nick Cullen, Principal of Hoare Lea’s Research and Development Group; and Cara Tissandier, Hoare Lea Sustainability. They will be joined by Ashley Bateson, Principal of Hoare Lea’s Sustainability Group, for the panel discussion.
