North West Region Civic Trust Awards 2010 -Commendation - Pendleton Gateway Health Centre

The new Pendleton Gateway Health Centre in Salford recently won a commendation in the North West Region Civic Trust Awards 2010. The £17 million building is the largest of the current phase of Mast LIFT schemes and was a joint venture by Salford PCT and Salford City Council. As a result it offers a broad range of health services, community and council facilities, and separate adult and children’s libraries. The layout has excellent signage and colour contrast, with the reception and central atrium making good use of natural light.

Working for Laing O’Rourke Construction, Hoare Lea acted as the mechanical and electrical engineers on the project and also undertook Environmental Modelling and NEAT Assessment.

The Civic Trust Awards is one of the oldest built environment award schemes in Europe. They recognise the best in the built environment, from architecture to planning, townscape to infrastructure. For more information go to:
