Nicholas Wilson House, Dormer Place, Leamington Spa

Hoare Lea acted as environmental, mechanical and electrical engineer for the award-winning Nicholas Wilson House. The office building located in Dormer Place, Leamington Spa, was announced winner of the Projects up to 2,000m2 category at the BCO Awards Midlands and East Anglia Region 2009.

The judges noted the high quality of entries from across the region, and hailed the winners as being buildings which deliver an exceptionally high occupier experience. Carl Potter, BCO Judging Chair for the Midlands and East Anglia, said: "Unusually four of our five winners this year are refurbished projects as opposed to new builds. This has allowed them to combine great quality and visually pleasing product, with working spaces which deliver a far superior working experience. Our winners show that this common theme of driving efficiency and productivity through building design and presentation, is here to stay."

Richard Kauntze, Chief Executive of the BCO, commented: "This is a landmark year for the BCO awards, and we are delighted that the Midlands and East Anglia awards have set such an early standard for top quality design and functionality. The BCO awards exist to provide a benchmark for excellence in workplaces, and today's winners show that output is as strong as ever."
