Hoare Lea has a long-established tradition of providing placement opportunities for undergraduate students on appropriate engineering degree courses. These positions are limited in number and highly prized. They often lead to permanent positions as graduate engineers.
A summer placement typically lasts between eight to twelve weeks and we offer positions in most of our offices. If you are a student studying towards a BEng or MEng from an appropriate IET, IMechE or CIBSE accredited degree, or similar, we would be pleased to hear from you. Specialist knowledge would be ideal in relation to specialist roles, although, we are happy to take individuals who've studied an engineering related degree, with a keen interest in a particular specialism.
Working within design teams, the placements offer undergraduates the opportunity to gain skills covering engineering systems design for a range of construction projects, together with broader skills in inter-disciplinary design co-ordination. This experience will improve your understanding of practical real worldý applications of engineering theory and provide an introduction to the fast-moving world of construction and consultancy. It will also help you to make informed decisions about choosing a career path that suits your interests and abilities.
We have a number of opportunities available nationwide and are on the lookout for top talent to offer positions to. We can be fairly flexible on start date and if we don't have any immediate vacancies, we will hold your details on file and we will get in touch should a suitable position become available. Speculative applications are accepted throughout the year.
If you wish to apply, please click on the 'Search for opportunities' tab within the menu bar, this will activate our candidate management system. Simply complete a CV profile and submit your application for the vacancy you are interested in. If there are no suitable vacancies, you are able to create a search agent which will inform you if and when a particular vacancy becomes live.
Thank you for your interest.
